Sexual assault counselling and support

  • SASH clinicians provide specialised sexual assault counselling to children aged 0–17 who have experienced sexual assault, and their non-offending families.

Our counselling helps children to understand their experience, how it has affected them and how to manage difficult and often confusing feelings. Counselling also helps parents and caregivers to process their child’s experience and feelings, and to support families to keep children safe from harm and reduce the negative effects of their experiences.

SASH does not investigate whether sexual assault has or hasn't occurred and will always believe a child or young person's disclosure.

SASH is a voluntary service and can receive referrals from parents or other legal guardians (including child protection) and young people if they are able to consent.

To refer, contact SASH on (03) 9345 6391 or email us at sash@rch.org.au

Please note: Our email address is only monitored during business hours, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm, excluding public holidays.

(Please dial 000 in case of emergency or call the Sexual Assault Crisis Counselling Line on 1800 806 292 outside of business hours).
